Kouros Gallery
is pleased to present Nicolas Vlavianos - Reflections on Sculpture. Under
the auspices of The Consulate General of Greece, this cultural collaboration
has been funded through a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to
The Program in Hellenic Studies at Columbia University. An opening reception
will take place on Sept. 6, 2007, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kouros Gallery, and
the artist will deliver a lecture on the symbiosis of artistic methods and scientific
research of ancient sculpture dating from 3000 BC to modern day sculpture, on
Sept. 12th at 6:30 p.m. at Columbia University, Philosophy Hall 301.
A fully-illustrated catalogue is available with text by Nicolas Vlavianos, and an essay by Maria Izabel Branco Ribeiro, Director, Museu de Arte Brasileira, FAAP, São Paulo, Brazil.
