Bio

Robert Sindorf carves minimal and abstract stone sculptures that are meant to be enjoyed both visually and by touch. He wants his viewers to approach and touch his sculptures to feel the stones wealth of textures. Sindorf studied under another one of our artists Minoru Niizuma, who tought him how to carve his first soapstone in 1974. He later became Niizuma's apprentice. In 1977 Sindorf graduated with a Masters degree from Columbia University, which led to his career as a sculptor.
